Just saw where at least 6 refineries in LA were closed prior to Katrina hitting. That's a lot of refining capacity off line. Companies are looking for their employees and will offer whatever help is needed to get them going again. Said they expect to be operational in a couple of weeks. Also saw where the EPA is temporarily lifting the 10,000 gasoline formulations that you have to have in different cities to meet their specs to help ease up the pressure on the refineries that are still operating in the US and off shore. Additionally, 1/4 of the crude used in the US comes from the Gulf and a lot of those rigs were shut down; some remained operational....dunno how....but what do I know about it. Pres said he'd let some oil out of the strategic reserve, but that doesn't help the refining capacity. So, Allan, it might be a good idea to take up Cowman's suggestion and get old dobbin out for a walk for the next couple of weeks. Really hard to be normal on here with the carnage in the south, especially when we have friends that stayed in Biloxi and haven't checked in. The old man (75) wouldn't leave so the wife and kids and grand kids all stayed behind so as to not leave papa alone....bad mistake. It looks like a 30 mile wide tornado hit the beach and demolished every frame home and a lot of larger buildings. That's the difference between a midwest tornado (like you'd get) and a hurricane. The carnage is everywhere instead of a confined path. So everyone is without and you can't get in to help them. Mark
