Will or can a IH 1066 do the same work as a 9600 Ford ??? I know the 1066 is rated for 116 HP and the 9600 for 135 HP ,but I have been told the IH where under rated in HP. Was this true?? Thanks

Either engine can be run at much higher horsepower so I suppose its all in how its set up. I dont have mush experince with pushing hp limits though. Hp aside, Ive got more respect for the dual power than the old whoop-tee-doo lever on the IH!!

A 10 is a hoss! Heavier than the 96 & a little more cubes; And if IH said 125 hp, it had all of it.

9600's are pretty stout old horses. A bunch of 4430's couldn't keep up with them around here back in the day. I think the two tractors would be pretty equal at stock pump settings. 1066's had two different HP ratings, plus the hydro version. Cu.In advantage to IH by 13; 414 vs 401 in the Ford.

A 1066 had 125hp at pto most ran 10 hp. over lots were turned up 150-160 hp, a 9600 Ford won't run with a 1066.

i have a 9600 ford and my manuel says 110 hp on the draw 135 horsepower on the bell pto etc . the 9600 would be more compared to a 966 inter more so than a 1066 the 1066 is about a size larger than the 9600 a 9700 ford would be more comparible i pull 5,18,s with my 9600 and i know a 1066 would pull 5, 20,s so my opinion no it would not be as stout dont think it was made to be
