Left a post, a little OT, about censorship and Bush yesterday. While it was a little OT, I'm sure there are some tractors at the Texas ranch. Anywho, can't remember being that far out of line with my post, unless it was the last response I recieved that I wasn't able to look at. Any ideas or did any of you see the last response. I should know better than post anything taht can be construed political. Thanks Craig

WiCraig

I think you are a little misguided about the purpose of this website.

You see, this web site is called "Yesterdays Tractors". I come here to read about my interest in old tractors and machinery. If I wanted to hear about politics I would go to a political website.

You are wasting all of our time by posting political rethoric here. Unless you can contribute something related to old machinery, tractors, farming, or related subject please have some common courtesy and express your views in a forum geared toward that subject.

So I ask you why are you here posting political opinions? What purpose does it serve on a TRACTOR website? The removal of your post has nothing to do with freedom of speech, it has everything to do with apprioprate conversation on a TRACTOR website.

Well, I guess you are entitled to your own opinion. But I guess many of the good people here don't agree with you on only talking about tractors and related issues. There is constant "OT" posts just about anything. From removal of bees from a deer stand to relatives dying. When I did a search for your helpful responces to people seeking answers, guess how many were under BillWT, thats right, none.

Glad to see you have identified a personal deficiency, but please back up your stats. It might just be 99% of people you associate with.

Danny most people would rather hear a lie that makes them feel good ,rather than the truth that may hurt there feelings .And I base this from working with the public on a daily basis and I meet some real morons.

Try Kountrylife forum- not as subject specific, some lively comments at times.

I didn't mean to upset anybody about the Amish.
I was just curious because there was a movie on the other night with an FBI agent living with them and I just wanted a little history about their relegion. How far back does their religon go and what did they do when the general public was using what they are using now. I wondered why the post was deleted, but now I know..... .

Amish? Research also Anababtist, Mennonite. About 1840 start, loosely German protestants beleiving in adult babtism, selfsufficiency so didn't have to deal much with 'others/government',mutual assistance (in some cases communal ownership of land- see also 'Amana colonies'). Sometimes refered to as 'plain people'. Horse equipment now seems obsolete- but small farming with horse was still practiced by other than Amish 1970s in some places. Farm practice is low capital, low debt, shared high labor- it still works in enough places for them to survive bad times. Green county, Wisconsin has some Amish families, horse drawn buggy shows up at New Glarus grocery store, Amish and old Swiesser families communicate, Catholic and Lutheran churchs sometimes annoyed by alternative example. Amish congregation makes decisions- not the pope. RN

Agreed. Otta be law against lawyers becoming politicos. Disagreement is all fine and good until it turns into personal attacks. I've always been amazed at how either side can degenerate into schoolyard tactics when they run out of debating points.

This is a tractor forum about tractors. I'am sure there are many political forum's out there just go find one to to your liking. Keep up the good work Kim and keep removing non tractor based posts from the site.

And isn't it amazing that tractor people have opinions and interests that involve more than tractors?? Those of you who whine about OT posts and that this is a "tractor foum," you are the ones who absolutely fail to understand that 90% of the posters here are "red state" people. Hence, when they respond based on their thoughts, feelings and opinions, those of you who don't like what was said start singing the "tractor forum only" tune. Wonder what would happen if things were the other way around????

I didn't think about that, that they're just crying foul(Tractors Only) because they can't come up with any Bush accomplishments to win an argument.
