Did anyone go the CAF Airshow in Council Bluffs, IA last Saturday? There were two P-51's, a L-5B, T-6 modified to look like a Zero, BT-13, YAK, and a T-34. A local car club had some beautiful Fords on display. There was also a MF that was being used to tow aircraft. It had a hitch for a towbar on front and the 3pt was used to carry two towbars and some chocks. And there were airplane rides.

Hello Terry,

I was there. I didn"t get there until just before 3:00p.m. That was ok. About 15 minutes after I got there and took pics of the P-51"s they fired them up and took off. What an awsome site and nothing sounds that cool.

Nope, didn't go...too far away, but I did see a P-51 fly over the farm Sunday August 14th, maybe it was going to that air show, it was polished with a black and yellow checkerbord tail,It was low and sounded great! was it there? I live in Indiana near the Ohio border, 70 miles from downtown Indianapolis...I love to watch aircraft, I have a friend that is building a Mustang replica pedal plane for his grandson, I built a Stearman pedal plane for a friend back about 18 years ago, Glad to see that some airplane guys are on this board from time to time!!!

Sorry, but the one you saw wasn't there. There was one with a black and white checkerboard nose named 'Big Beautiful Doll'. I don't know where it came from. The other was 'Gunfighter II' which is based in Council Bluffs. Those Merlins are some smooth sounding engines!
