Can anyone inform me about this tractor? I'm looking to purchase one with about 2000 hours on it. Purchase or Run?

Thanks, your input would be helpful.

I have a neighbor that has an air cool model. At around 1,200 hrs. the crank shaft broke on it too. A new crank and other parts were replaced. Back in April of this year it broke again. It's sitting on the side of the highway near his house now with the wheels chocked.

I know of another water cooled model that went through 2 water pumps per year for 4 years. Axle broke twice and one PTO shaft was broken before he got shed of it.

Then I know of one that's on a dairy farm that's 15 years old and they seem to have few problems with it. It's used mostly for towing silage. So there are some good ones out there. Just don't hear of many that last.

Not very popular of a Tractor my friend, I have heard that parts are not available, you check to see where you can get parts for it, and check the price of them, then, maybe, but for me, well, I'll stick to American Tractor's especially Models that have Dealers near by....good luck... You get what you pay for, they say.....

I'd say you've been told the straight dope but, these cracks about good ol' Amurikin made tractors makes my teeth grate.

I just bought new JD 5320 this spring. Engine made in Mexico. Front axle. Carraro/Italy. Lift hydraulics supposedly Yugoslavia (according to JD mechanic), lift arms and top link as well as electronics, Spain. Rear axle Mannerheim, Germany...maybe tranny too. The only thing I KNOW made in USA is the Firestone tires because they say so. Oh yeah, they tossed all the foreign parts together in Georgia.....if you can call that Made in USA. Face it boys, the days of an entirely US built tractor is over and dead UNLESS you buy a humongous 200 hp model.

Gosh gee wizz --- maybe I should rephrase that... now days, when people say "Made in America" that would be --- Made in a Foreign Country, with American Specifications. Will that Do ????? So on the flip side, with out American Specifications, the quality will be less then what you expect...
