Guy who mows off the roadsides for the county happened by today - stopped him to talk for a moment. His tractor - an industrial Deere was equipped with a cab, with all the windows missing. (Guess how that probably happened!) What caught my attention, was window sized fan in the side window behind the operator. Was obviously an electric radiator fan off a motor vehicle. He said it helped keep the dust off him, as well as helping cooling. Great idea! Others may want to equip farm machinery with similar setups. WARNING - BE SURE TO PROVIDE PROPER SCREENING TO PREVENT CONTACT WITH FAN BLADES>

Ya know something there Nebraska? A 300 watt 12VDC to 120VAC inverter from radio shack (have one of them) across one of the batteries, and a $20 house fan (got some of them too), and some tie-wraps (have lots of them)... and who cares what it looks like if it works. Brain wheels are turnin now. Mmmm Hmmm.

Nope, wife is going to Fiber Fest at Allegan - will have to stay home and feed the critters. Following weekend - daughter is getting married at a Civil War reinactment at Jackson. Have to figure out how to get oats to Blanchard Steam show, to get 'em thrashed. LOGISTICS!!!!! !

Sorry to hear it. Maybe we catch ya next year! Congrats on your daughter's wedding. I've known a lot of people over the years who were into the war for southern freedom. Had a teacher in high school named Finney who was well known in that area. Grandkids can't be far off!

Are you close to Allegan? Used to have friends at Wayland. Lost contact and last time was up most of buildings torn down and strange name on mailbox. Were elderly and I have a feeling they passed away.

Leroy, "Bout 2 1/2 hour drive away from Allegan. Last time it was a long trip with the old ailing farm truck with a bunch of sheep in back. Air conditioning went out this spring, it"ll be even longer! R

I rigged up a flexalite 12v fan I run off a deep cycle battery when I mow with my fourwheeler. I built a plywood enclosure with hardware cloth bungeed on the front. I keeps you cool and the bugs don't bother you. It's loud but I always wear earplugs anyway. I got the idea from a neighbor who had an old combine blower motor rigged on his oliver 88 for staying cool spraying roadbanks. DK
