I cannot raise the bush hog without having the PTO spinning. Should this be like this or is there something wrong with my tractor?

Rich: The Ford 9N,2N,8N board will be the place to find the real experts on Ns. Many of them never post on this board. You can learn a lot about those little tractors over there by just reading the many posts.

That is how all of the Ns are just part of life if you own and 2N, 9N, or 8N. The hyd pump is powered by the pto shaft

That is the big disadvantage of the 8n to the Jubilee. Make sure you have an over running clutch on the PTO or you may end up making a new barn door where you don't want one.

I would say 9N to the 8N. Jubilee has an engine run hyd pump. You might try the N board. Some add on mods are for sale to overcome some of the limitations.
