I have a 1955 Allis Chalmers WD55 that has been converted over to an alternator and regulator. Heres the problem, the battery now discharges, the ammeter goes over to 30 and stays, and when you touch the battery cable to the battery, it has a faint spark. In addition to all of this, the battery boils. Could someone please help me? Thanks.

A boiling battery indicates overcharging. The ammeter is probably wired backwards. I would start with a new regulator.

Year make and model are irrelevant. What we need to know is when it was converted. If it was yesterday, problem may be different to if it was a long time ago. Seems like you have a large sink to earth. If it is indeed 30 amps, something will be generating about 350 watts. You should be able to locate it fairly easily. If the battery is "boiling" it would appear the alternator is charging but is not being regulated.
There is a regulator problem at least.
