Hey, All my life I have enjoyed Tractor shows, County fairs, Tractor rides, Airshows and Fly-in Breakfast. All you people who do the back breaking work to make these events a success "MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU!!!!" There will always be people complaining and grumbling that something was left out or that it could have been better. I am sorry for that. They obviously haven't put the sweat and tears (huge amounts of $$) that go into pulling events like these off. Liabilitie issues, logistics and just where to put, how to put, should we put? a porta potty up!! Many decisions and hours, if not months, of hard work (generally by volunteers) go into these events. Some groups start planning two years in advance for any given show. SAAaaaaAALUTE! Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do! BillyO

Right now I am dealing with Oshkosh traffic through here. Many are from Ca. One guy in a Peitnpol (slowwww homebuilt). He was seven days getting here from Oakland. I have been asked to help a friend ferry a plane up to Oshkosh Wed. I am not sure I can get away. I sure hope it works out. It has been many years since I have been able to go. Talk about an event that takes planning!!!

In all the years I've only been able to get to the show four times. I've visited the museum many times at other than show dates. If you get up that way be sure to take in the museum.

You got that right,S, I"m involved in 2 shows here,1 auto and 1 tractor show. No one knows what has to transpire until you walk a mile in a show organizer"s shoes. They always seem to turn out though. Never yet met face to face with someone who felt he was wronged because his car did not win people"s choice etc, but there is always a rumor mill. As you say , a big Thanks to all those who help and organize. Dan in Alberta

Whether it be a tractor show, livestock show, craft show, or county fair - most people don't realize what goes into putting one on. My home town (Tecumseh Nebraska) is putting on a show next Summer centering around our 150th Anniversary
of being incorporated. Folks have been working two years ALREADY, still one to go.

AMEN to everything slorol and harley said. Without a lot of efforts, these shows would not happen.

Yep we do. Glad to hear you"re back down out of the tree buddy. We have an annual bike rally down here on the ridge the second weekend in June, and we"re already planning for next year. And you"re right, the correct placement of the porta potty must depend upon a number of various input situations. The estimated direction of the prevailing wind (hopefully away from you), the proximty to the most people, the right distance away from the most people so the banging door don"t bother them, close enough so they don"t have to walk too far, out of the traveled road, yadayadayada. It"s a dilema. So much to do, so little time. Git-er-done, Harley

Amen Amen ! Always makes me wonder if there is signs at the pay booths that say " by giving us the modest asking admission price, this immediately gives you the inherrant right to complain the rest of the day about anything and everything". Oh well the worker bees still have the personal satisfaction of knowing a job well done. And they will be the ones that always get it done !! Migriane
