Wondering what you mean by apologizing for being stupid and poor? So I should find someone in the neighborhood here (or in prison for that matter) that isn't all that bright and ask him to apologize? Or maybe do the same thing in the poor end of town? It always amazes me how bigoted we can be and then say something without thinking.

As I said in a statement last week, I am not a bigot, I only have one wife, and I hate everybody the same. Ragheads, camel jockeys, slopes, gooks, zipperheads, unemployed meatheads, third and fourth generation welfare recipients, anyway, you get my meaning. I can afford to feel like this, cause I've earned the right. I have put in my time and have earned it. And another thing, folks don't call me a Germanic-American, or an English-American, so why should they be African-Americans? They're either African or they're American. You can't have both. And like Andy Roonie says, It's not being bigoted just to not like somebody. It's my earned right. I don't have to like everybody. Heck, I don't even have to like anybody. I do, but I can be selective ifn I want to. Get over it. That's why they call it freedom. If you want everybody to act a certain way, move to China and voice your ideas. After all, you have that right too. Harley

You are indeed a sick person Harley, not well at all. You definitely need professional help (which I can't offer) but there's lots out there. And then we wonder why so many of the world population views us the way they do. You are an embarassment to civilized humans, what more can I say?

No much mention of it in the papers, or news media, and I found it buried in page 6 of last weeks Saturday Elkhart Truth (newspaper back home) where no one would see or read it: The US Circuit Court Of Appeals of the District of Columbia ruled against the federal court that had priviously ruled that the enemy combatents being held at Guantanamo Bay fall under the Geneva Convention. In a unanimous vote, all 3 justices went on to say specifically that "The Al Quaida detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay do not fall under the Geneva Convention". Specifically, the case used was for Bin Laden's captured driver, from Yemen, captured in Ahganistan. His attornies, a University of Georgetown professor, and a US Navy Commander argue that he was innocent, and had planned to return to Yemen to be "a driver" once he finished his service to Bin Laden. I am not joking. His two attornies went on further to say that this ruling set back the US Constitution 200 years, for a Yemenise enemy combatent, captured in Afganistan, being help at Guantanamo Bay (Cuba), whom has never stepped a foot on US soil, is not a US citizen, and has no US Constitutional rights in my book. I do agree with that Court of Appeals that those guys, whom belong to no specific country they are captured in, as terrorists to at least those countries, do not fall under Geneva Convention status, and are not POWs as such.

As a matter of fact, it was said that Teddy the drunk chauffer was to have taken a 7 hour trip to Gitmo today, for the first time ever, to take a look at the place he (amongst others) so criticizes. I haven't heard yet, did he go? A few weeks ago, when another staunch critic herself, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee went there, she stood in front of the cameras and back peddled on her stance up to that point, after being video taped eating the same food the detainees were eating, "orange chicken", while our troops ate MRE's.

Put them on boats, send them over to South Korea, and let the ROK Army do the questioning (as "contractors") for us if they (and others) think they've got it so bad. Thanks Harley, it's bedtime and you just sent my blood pressure through the roof.

ping me Harley, and I'll send you something you might get a kick out of. marklmb1960@aol.com

I still wonder why the borders are still open to these folks. Personaly I could care less what is done to them, they are going to go after us no matter what anyway, they have proven that time after time..

Kevin, unfortunately your correct, but we have so many bleeding hearts in this country who seem to think the way to correct things is to tear down our government and military leaderships. I wonder how they are going to deal with these people when they come to their house to separate their heads from their bodys. Maybe they can reason with them or call in the ACLU..... ..

Back when I was in the navy, ( bout 68) I spent a year in GTMO. I didn't have air conditioning. It was hot at times. The food wasn't bad, just typecal navy. I don't see how these guys have it so bad. As for torture, well they are luck. I haven't heard of any missing fingernails, dislocated joints, burns, electric shocks, etc. Whet they have had to endure is nothing compared to what some of these guys would have done to prisonors they took. I will admit, we should charge them or release them I think.

Harley,

We treat enemy POWs well in the hopes that our enemies will do the same to our boys. We're treating those poor buggers lousy. The average foot slogger in any war has squat for information and we've taken them from their homes for long years now. If we can't prove they did something specifically bad we should send 'em home with $50 in their pocket and a promise of job training.

Have you seen or heard how they treat our men? These guys are treated like kings compared to our men having their heads sawed off and their bodies burned.

They want to be treated under the Geneva Convention first they must abide by the Geneva Convention. Being an enemy combatant caught out of uniform with the general populace calls for summary execution on the battlefield according to the Geneva Convention. Line them up along the fence and shoot them - toss the bodies over the fence for Castro to bury.

I dont have the answer.I just thought they could be detained in a POW camp where the war is not brought to US soil in Cuba.I am not a combat veteran and dont claim to be but I was seriously taught in boot camp that all the enemy should be killed on the battlefield because prisoners are a burden and will slow down a unit and put them at extra risk.In WW1 Marines killed all surrendering Germans due to the fact that the Germans would have fake surrenders backed up by machine gun fire as the men pretending to surrender jumped into a concealed trench.I would do as I was told and try to kill everyone in the field and not have any prisoners.Since I was never in combat this is all in my mind anyhow.Pray for war to kill the commies for Christ,Sir.[old platoon motto]

C'mon we all know thats no kind of question, what do you do with any prisoner? You hold on to them for a little while and let them go. Letting people go back to their lives is an important part of war, if you don't let the prisoners go all the people see you as an oppressor which we are.

I don't remember ANY country letting POWs go WHILE the war is still on. Would you give them a "get out of jail free" card in case they got captured trying to kill Americans again? What if "there lives is flying airplanes into buildings", do we let them get back to that? I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday, and hope I always will. Some people forget to soon. I am sorry if there are any there (Cuba) that are not guilty, but there were 2900 not guilty in New York on 9/11.

We have been turning Child molesters out for 35 years or better, and they just keep molesting and killing kids. Those that want us dead are no different, you turn them out only to give them another shot at us..

So we should have killed all the Germans who were taken prisoner in WWII? Or Italians? Thats crazy talk. How would Germany have every rebuilt? They wouldn't have the Russians would have waltzed in and most of Europe would have been communist before we knew what happened.

You can't just kill people, what kind of Christian ethic is that? I thought this was a largely Christian board, does your God tell you to kill people when they've done wrong to you? Did Jesus say kill or forgive?

I am a Christian. And good men in the Bible were INSTRUCTED to kill people in wartime. God instucted Aaron, and others to lead their armies and spare NO MAN at times.

Americans need to get over their "we must not kill anyone even in war" attitude. They are enemies. If *they* choose not to eat, we as AMERICANS should be in FAVOR of their freedom of choice. Provide them food, and thet THEM choose whether or not to eat. After all, isn't force-feeding them "torture, and against their civil rights"?

If they remain insulent/violent/anti-cooperative, shoot them (the enemy in this war) and be done with it. Trust me, they'd do no less for you!

Besides, most of the people that "disagree" with war are not willing to go into the military. They hide behind those that are willing to give up life and limb to defend this country. They use the rights soldiers have provided to bad-mouth the soldiers. Ironic, huh?!?

Thanx,
Matt
