Looking for a part that is called a Flat Spring.
It mounts on a Z9298 pitman arm for a #5 John Deere sickle mower. It looks like a spoon and is slotted
to accept a screwdriver or punch to lock & unlock the pitman arm to the ball on the sickle blade.

Also need a latch rod which holds the sickle up for transporting.

Would really appreciate some help if anyone has these items or knows where I can get them.

You might be surprised, the JD dealer might still carry it at a decent price. I bought a spoon for my ford and it was $15.

Try sickle service . com or some to the tractor supply places should have just the end pieces? Maybe not or just whole pitman. I'll check to see if I have just have a "spring release" Z7327H. JD may have it still too? The one called a flat spring has a hex hole in it for locking a nut on older pitmans. You can make the latch rod easy enough and use a big wing nut.

Thanks for the part number I needed. I'll call JD again tomorrow.

Dale, JD parts site shows to have the Z7327H for $15.23 and calls it a Spring-Knife. I didn't have any more of them seperate but do have some other NOS JD pitmans complete and sticks for other mowers.
