Just like the green counter guy said Thursday. The parts to fix the seat on my '61 JD 4010 arrived via the brown truck yesterday....right on schedule.

Hi Joe,

Talking about rain and coastal, I just downloaded a report from TAMU Ag Extention, Soil and Crop Sciences Division, entitled "Managing for High Quality Hay".

Real eye opener. Has a lot of facts that a hayman needs to know. One thing I knew, but didn't know the extent of the knowledge, was the ability of a plant to produce on decreasing amounts of water as a function of how much N is in the soil. I was amazed at how fast the water needed dropped as the N was increased.....but the bad part was I didn't know HOW MUCH N it took..... .lots to really operate on minimum water.

So I guess those boys out West on the Caprock either irrigated their crops or really packed the fert on them.

The Pub # is SCS-1997-02 if you are interested.

Later,

Mark

I love to see Brown coming down the lane... especially if it's UPS - Sheriff is bad... That means I've got jury duty again!!

I missed your earlier post on the 4010 - hope it's not too "broke"...

Finished it yesterday and went and cut a field of hay. Man if you have one of the old deeres and the seat is a wobblin you wouldn't believe what a clean up of the pivot points will do. Like new.

Thanks,

Mark
