I have a 1946 Oliver 77, I have replaced the shaft that connects the clutch to the transmission several times in the last ten years. Why does the shaft wear out in the coupling every 2-3 years? thanks for any help that any one can give me

I would suspect that the alignment of the engine to the transmission is not very good. Sometimes you need to shim the engine at the mounting points.

The other thing it could be is that the tub frame is not bolted securely to the transmission housing, causing the whole front end to move in relation to the transmission. But you would have noticed something like that, probably. Try posting your question in the Oliver discussion forum and see what they say.
