I get Email offers for home loans for less than 3%. Must be a scam. I figure they either require an application fee- after which you hear no more- or they use the application info for identity theft.

There may be scams among the offers, but there are 3% loans around- but they're one year (or even 6 month) adjustables, with an artifically low rate the first year, and three years down the road you'll be paying 9% or so.

It looks to me that there is a scam within a scam going on here. The Nigerian government convicts the original scammer, probably because Brazil threatened to cut off coffee supplies to nigeria, then the Nigerian government skims off $5,000,000 for themselves, and another $15,000 desguised as a fine, and "orders" the original scammer to return a measly $48,500,000, which leaves a paltry sum of $188,470,000 for the original scammer to try to live on. Yep, the Nigerian government is really stepping up its effort to eradicate this scam. The article also didnt address the fact that this is but one scammer convicted. What about the other gazillion or so scammers who are still applying their trade? Looks to me as though they are still counting on good old Joe American to be greedy enough to continue to fall for such nonsense.

Welp, it must be working if there is any truth in their numbers.

I just saw the blurb on Yahoo, We ought to be able to get the people involved over here and tie them behind our tractors and make them keep up until they dropped dead of exhaustion, oh yeah and give back all the money they stole.

Now who wouldn't steal $240 million and take a 2.5 year rap for it. Ha what a farce.

Yeah but they fined her; yea verily a whopping $15,000. Now that's what I call justice.

(Of course I'm being sarcastic)
