Hello all, i am wondering what a good approach to providing blasting services to people that restore tractors would be. Any help would be appreciated.

I had my Oliver 1600 blasted by a pro, w/ out primer cause that was just too much for my budget. They charged me $100/hr, but they did around 100 small to large parts, including 3" cuppped washers for the headlights to the tractor frame itself. Only took 7 1/2 hrs, had it back the next week. Glad I did it that way... Some may think that's expensive, but when time is short and you want a great paint job, that's the only way to go. Most places said it'd take them 1 1/2 days min. for a little bit cheaper/hr.

I would think that a service where people could bring in sheetmetal parts to be blasted and then piklexed (sp?) would be a good thing.

I would use it.

Not sure how many people blast the major parts due to sand getting in everywhere.

Piklex (sp?) is a paintable rust preventer.

Some days when I am working on my equipment, that would seem like the best option..... . Isn't it hard to get the explosives these days tho?
