Could anyone tell me how many narrow front tractors they can haul on a 48 foot trailer?

It does not matter how many you can load but how many can you scale that is the question the other day at the scales I saw 1 guy have to unload 3 there and he got a 1500.00 reward for his loading skills.

I hauled 6 old John Deere tractors on one load a few years ago. One had wide front. I'm talking semi trailer drop deck in a 53 foot.

A friend showed me a picture he had of a load he hauled down to the WMT tractor ride. Five tractors on a drop-deck trailer. Had a W-6 on the upper deck, A 560 standard, SMTA, and I don't remember what the other were, but they were about the same size. Good load. He said they had fun when they loaded them up. Loaded them at a JD dealer's ramp!

I can get four of the small ones on this 20"+ 5" but can"t get the trailer balanced to haul them. These three load and haul easy. If you are talking an 18 wheeler 48 footer flatbed you might get six on if your not afraid to load them. You can slide them over sidways tight to one another to get more on as well.

The width of the rear wheel base can be a factor also. If they are set narrow, you can get more on. I have a brother in law that hauls 3 Farmall C"s on an 18 foot trailer because they are set narrow. He backs one on as close to the edge as he can get, backs another on so that one of the rear tires o between the other tractor and its tire and then pulls the third on with the narrow front in between the other 2. At least, I think that is how he does it. They are crammed on there.

JED,yrs. ago I hauled 2 unstyled JD B's on a 18 ft rollback so I'll guess five(5) maybe six if not overloaded weight wise.Have you ever seen mexicans haul farm equip. to Mexico. They can get more on a truck than DOT scales could register.Tx Jim

If they are all narrow front, you can get a bunch. Back the first one on, angle the front end over to one side, pull the next one on and pull it up beside the first one, back the third one on and mismatch the rear wheels in beside the second one, etc. If the tractors weigh 55oolbs each and you have a semi tractor pulling that 48 footer, you can't get over loaded, because you'll run out of room first. Now if you don't care if they get beat up, I've seen them piggybacked with the front of the second one loaded on top of the seat and steering wheel of the first, etc, but this would only work for salvage stuff that you didn't care if it got bent or not. Good luck, Harley
