Yea, I've been stuck that badly and that deep. Did it clearing brush. There was an area that was a bit soggy, but not bad. Or so I thought. For unbeknownst to me, it wasn't soggy, it was actually a foot thick mat floating on top of a pond I didn't know existed. Drove across it several times before the tractor finally punched through and sank.

I buried a 2505 terra gator worse than that in the fall of 93 I had it so wedge in the ground that the wheels would not turn with out smoking the clutch at least you can see his tires . only took 9 hours and 5 ten wheelers full of dirt to erase that boo boo .

This one has been here several times but still is a wild one. I would say quick-sand is the culprit. We have a few spots of it here and you drop like a rock in water, luckily most of them are small enough that the other tires are still on solid ground. My dad and uncles got a pony in a spot when crossing the ditch, by the time they had a truck to pull it out it was gone!

Dad always taught me that if the tractor wouldn't move, QUIT DIGGING. But I am sure there are soil conditions where it is soft clear to China and it don't take but a slip of the wheels to get in trouble.

Barnstormer over on the N board has a picture of his 8N pulling a dead Deere. He may have pulled this one too.

This picture has been around for several years. It has made it to me on E-mail at least twice. It is in the photo section here, about the middle of the photo section. I do not know how to go to it without looking thru all 15 or 20 thousand pictures,as well as comments from the owner about how he got it stuck, and how he got it out. Also enough comments from other people to provide a couple of hours reading.

How does one get stuck that bad? Was the field never worked before? Is it quicksand?

Had a D-6 about that bad onced, 2 cord of wood under the blade and tracks, used a 400D and 212 cat grader and twisted it out. In the rocky Ozarks no less.

Been there, tractor wasn't quite as big, 3020, and neither was the disk, 14 ft., but every bit as deep.

Rusty - Ouch!!
I had a 9N stuck one time - got to close to the pond and my neighbor pulled me out with 656. I don't even think his tractor knew it was pulling anything as I don't recall the governor kicking in...

It took our 4010 plus the neighbors 3010 to get me out. I found the old river bed, which had been filled when the river was straightened about 20 years previously.
