Well it's a done deal and to take possession I cut and baled a little hay. Just some ground along the edge of the canyon that has never been worked. The farm ground is allready planted to crop for this year but I am to get the landlords share at harvest. So wouldn't a house look nice by that elm tree?

And here is a pic of the canyon and the view for about 20 miles

Cowman, YeeeeHaaaaa! I do belive that will work Quite nicely. I take it that the view of the breaks is looking from the tractor. What do it look like from the other , behind that elm , over the rise? There is nothing like a sunset up on the High Plains. Or sunrise either. Congratulation on you new home place. Keep us posted on the build.
Later,
John A.

Allan, I heard that. I would love to see ya'll end of the country when it has it's Sunday cloths on.
Hope all is well with ya'll, Let me know when you start setting the rings on your 966 with that 4 bottom spinner. LOL. Look forward to when that session starts.
I have been chieseling ground for the last week off and on when I had time. I like to played thunder though. For it like to got too dry before I got on it. But we got 70 hunderths on Thursday night abd that has helped.

John A.

Wow!!! You guys in the midwest are having all the fun these days. I know the risks involved cause I've been there and sold out in 1984. These last few months have been working to clean up my 47 acres here in Washington and just about have the new storage building done there now. Those pictures of yours and Allan's really make me long for the midwest. Talked to my dad in southeast Iowa this morning and says it is lush green and the crops look like a magic year. Keep the cycle going and get a log cabin or at least an out house out there on the land and really call it home. Best wishes. Migraine

Wow, looks great! Nice job, it couldn't happen to a better person. How many acres in that spread? Ok, now I have an idea. When you are ready to get started building your new house, let's have a gathering there...and all bring our hammers.

Howard I told you those JD parts were worth a lot? LOL. Hey is that just south of your place now, or south of the plow day fields? Sure looks great, love that canyon view.
Congrats and hope to see you around the end of the month at Stockville ?

Beautiful. It looks as though you did very well for yourself. Good luck with it.

By the way, I see some green. You get some rain this year? Maybe more than your share, like mine too? LOL. Did very well, and congratulations. Don't forget the upside down horse shoe over the door. HEY ALLAN...Cowman needs a horse shoe, got an extra haven't used at your new spread?

I never seen it this green. Probably never will again. The old timers say 1952 was the last wet year. Sure is pretty, but then I like it when the grass turns color in the fall too.

Afterthought,

Sure hope I get to meet you one day, Howard. You've been such an inspiration to so many of us here and it just warms the soul to see you get your share of the good stuff.

Maybe I can sneak away and hit that Bayard harvest day thing this year.

Hoey Cowman, Thats beautiful. I always enjoy your pictures. And Allans too. Please keep posting them, and congratulations on the new farm. About where is it from Wellfleet. I have a couple of programs that I can locate somewhere by longitude and lattitude also. Found Allans place on the aerial view that way. Delbert from Lincoln

about 3 miles south of Wellfleet. south line of property is right on the county line. It's the triangle shaped piece west of the highway in the lower left corner.
