For some reason, I ended up with an RV magazine here in the house and was browsing through it today (nope, I'm not an RV'er). There was a product writeup there about a liquid solution of some type that you supposedly add to your battery which (they claim) "doubles the life of your battery, reduces charging time, and increases discharge time". The product is called BATTERY EQUALISER" and it is made or marketed from California. A web link is www.batteryequaliser.com if you want to check it out. Do you think this is the real MeCoy or maybe another snake oil product?

i have a little knowledge here and agree with the others a wasted effort, replace the battery. we have a problem with extreem cold killing ours. proper maintnance and charging will help. vibration in equipment will destroy them we use the $40 ones get about 3 years and replace for tractors and seasonal equip. some warentees are good some are bad.

I have an old little box of that stuff from the early sixties in my den with Lee Petty on the box.The quote is "Id rather race without tires then without VX-6 in my battery" That must have been some important additive if Lee would race with no tires on the car.Anything I ever tried like it seemed to ruin my battery but Lee Petty likes it alot apparently[or says its better than having tires on his stock car].I wonder how much Lee got paid back then for that dopey ad.VX-6 tested and proven in batteries of : trucks-tractors-diesel engines-farm equipment-industrial equipment-fire engines-cars-boats. Amazing advertising maybe not amazing stuff that VX-6

best and surest way to extend the life of a battery is to buy a new battery. i usually replace them at about 3 years old. that way i don't have any trouble with a weak battery on very hot or very cold days. forget them stupid battery warrantys. they are not worth the paper they are printed on.

I wish that I lived close to you so that I could buy or haul off your used batteries since they are replaced so often.

if you want 'em, come get them. can't mail them. post office said something about hazardous materials. you can't imagine how fast this texas heat will kill a battery. i think the "maintence free" batteries are a joke anyway. can't add water to them when they get low and ALL batteries at some point need added water to keep them alive. good luck in your search for used batteries.

Its probably nothing more than very high priced hydrogen peroxide. You can usually buy a whole pint of it in a drugstore for a buck. And yes, adding an ounce of it to each cell once every year has shown to extend the life of a battery, sometimes as much as 13 years that I personally know of.Hydrogen peroxide is 02 and is very unstable.Add it to a battery cell and it will quickly convert the build up sulfate back to sulphuric acid.It fizzes and bubbles but it can also restore a dead cell in some cases.
Put some on your hair and it will quickly mate up with the pigment in your hair turning it white in short order.

Dad used to add an asiparin to each cell to clean the plates. Then he'd refill with new acid.

There is a chemical that you can add to a battery to remove the sulfation on the plates. A motorcycle battery without the sulfate stop lasts about 2 years, with it, they last 4-5 years. If this is the same stuff, I don't know.

There was stuff like that out back during world war 2, in the early 1940"s. Batteries were hard to come by and they sold some of it. I don"t think it helped anything besides the pocketbook of those selling it.
