My son and a couple of his buddys left Lincoln Nebr. this AM on their motorcycles for a show and rally at Algona Iowa over the long weekend. Since their is nothing any more fun than riding one of them in pouring rain, don"t anybody over that way cut any hay until after the 4th.

Yup - nothing like a good soaking while you're trying to have fun! About the only thing worse is a nice 105 degree day and riding into a 20 MPH wind. Like standing in front of a furnace duct..... ..

That rally is always over the 4th, and they always get into rain. Last year it started raining just as they pulled out, ground was wet and they figured a few more drops, they wouldn"t get out, and ran out of it about Unadilla. Larry and Jim turned south at Syracuse, and they never got out of it. My son and our neighbor, boy talk about a couple of drowned rats.

About a month back my little sis and her man left Atlantic IA for a visit to the Grand Canyon and the to visit big brother(me) in NM. Rode two up on the Moto Guzzi for about ten hours. Five hrs in the rain. Woke up one morning and there was snow on the ground. Hope all goes well for the bikers and y"all have a safe and happy 4th.
