I'm sure you've been busy with your new job, but have you made any progress on your R? I posted a couple of names for you a while back for you to check as far as finding a replacement block. Did you see them, or had any luck?

(And check out my last page for you. We had quite a discussion without you about the show at Rocky Fork Lake...)

Howdy Brian,

Sorry I didn"t get back to ya. It has been busy lately. Between the job and trying to put up hay I"ve been kept pretty tied up. The R"s problem wasn"t as bad as thought. I"m gonna have that patch we made brazed or welded by a friend who is as good as they come. That should solve the leak. As far as the pumpin water up through the exhaust, that was because dummy me put in a couple of gaskets upside-down. So problem solved. By the way, I saw ole Tuffy in here talkin to Dave the service manager. He said that 730 incident last year was just a drop in the bucket. Pretty good attitude if ya ask me. So what was the ruckus about that you were mentioning as far as the show? Couldn"t find anything in previous posts on here. Take her easy buddy. God bless.

Scroll down to about Page 4 or 5. You'll see where I had tried to "page" you once before...

Glad to hear that the R isn't as serious as originally thought. Think you'll have her up and running in time for the show here in Georgetown?

Howdy Brian,

Well goodness, I forgot all about the Highland County show. Ya know, I've been meanin for years to mosey up to that show but never have. Is it a fairly big show? From what I read, you have the same trouble I do when it comes to shows. I have a truck but it's only big enough to haul one tractor (grandad's old 46 JD "A" is the limit there) and I have no trailer. Ever since '99 when I started showing that '44 Farmall A I've been borrowing someone's trailer or having a friend haul for me. The only year I had the R down (2003), I had a friend truck it down. I still don't have a way to get it there on my own but if a neighbor will still put up the offer he gave last fall, then I should have it there. Work will be the next big question. That time of year isn't too busy in the parts business so maybe just maybe I can weasel out a day and a half off for the Friday and Saturday of the show. Sure hope so. Hey, do you think the old R (provided it's in good working order by that time) could toy around with a piece of equipment on the grounds? I've never run a thresher or sawmill myself but would love to see if the R could handle it. Glad to hear that the show was a fun one. God bless.

p.s. Don't be a stranger, you know where to find me during the week..heheh.
