my friend has a ford 600 with a loader that ran good last fall but the engine smoked he let it sit for the winter like all his other stuff (he goes to florda) but he tryed to start it and it has no spark he wants to sell it and i want to buy it how much should i offer him? i was thinking like 500-700 dollars whats your impuit on this?

Ours used to do the same thing every once in a while when it sat for a few monthes at a time.

Used to have to clean the points with Emery cloth. Then it would fire up like nobody's business.

Wouldn't you feel like you were ripping your 'friend' off with an offer like that? Especially if you spent the three minutes to fix it in his driveway? I'd feel awfully guilty myself....

Even points, condensor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires are well under $100 to buy new.

And if you do open the distributor, don't lose the little clip on the rotor... ;)

Depending on the loader, it could be worth $300-500 just for the loader. Then depending on the tires, sheet metal etc another $300-500 so. Figureing its worth $3000-5000 in good runnig shape. If you can get it for $500 its dirt cheap and if you pay $1000 you still probably aren't getting hurt unless the tires are bad. My $0.02 worth
