I have a JD 2950 with the 359 engine. I would like to get more power. Does anybody have experience having the fuel injection turned up or that and adding a turbo charger? Also I have been quoted about $2500 to do the pump and turbo, Is that a fair price?

Have you found someone who will do the pump and turbo for you yet ???? It's hard to find people up here to turn pumps up because of some law about air quality. The local JD dealer told me that they could be fined up to $3,000 if caught turning a pump up. They told me back in the day when the "4440" were new they turned alot of them up for people and wouldn't think twice about it.... as long as the tractor had a turbo and a "GOOD" cooling system they would "crank" it up back then. If you put a turbo on your 2950 it should be the same as a 3155. 96 HP. stock.

I would trade up to a model with more HP that came that way from the factory. The engines usually have beefier parts in them so they hold up better.

Amen Mike.

I would cost any more to trade to a new 6603 than it would cost to soup up the 2950. And he would have warrenty on a new machine rated at that HP as a bonous. Seems to me that question has been posted a time or two here before in the past year.
