I looked at a 350 utility with power steering probs. The box would not hold oil and when steering it would stick when turned all the way left or right. It seemed to be OK when in the middle. Should I make an "as is" offer or steer clear? Dealer starting at $2500.

FYI, we make the steering rack gear for this style steering system here, better material than OEM, works great and lots more cost effective than junking these tractors, 920 295 3278 or email riverdalefarmshop@yahoo.com, Dale

Larry, I read your post on the Farmall/IH forum but didn't really understand what would make the steering stick. After reading this post , I believe you mean that is only sticks at the farthest - right & left. look at the steering stops below each steering arm, are they there or been replaced & welded in wrong place ? That's the first thing that comes to mind to check. The leak is most likely the plug in bottom of box, easily fixed. Offer them $1800, that way you could spend some on the box if necessary. Let us know wwhat you find !

That sounds like way too much for one with steering problems. Parts a virtually non existant new and getting old parts may be more of the same. Unless you can find one for junk with great steering. That is the utilities downfall, steering parts.
