It's so dry here in Southwest Missouri that all the catfish are leaving. The Dept. of the Interior, Wildlife Division apprehended four hitching a ride south along highway 65 trying to get to some water. All the garden earthworms are using jackhammers to drill their holes. Most of the good ole boys have had to quit chewing, because when they spit, it dries up before it hits the ground and then they get caught for littering. I'ma tellin ya. It's dry. Harley

So dry in Connecticut... in reply to Harley, 06-26-2005 12:51:13
So dry up my corner (northeast) of Connecticut...

The weeds I sprayed with RoundUp seemed to have perked up given a little moisture :)

The weeds I didn't spray are all keeling over from lack of water!

Here in northern Illinois it is so dry, as I was inspecting my corn field I spit . Two slalks of corn , after the moisture, beat the he$$ out of each other. So I took a chew of tobacco , spit and those same two stalks beat the he$$ out of ME.

We had pop up t-storms all around central Oh. (except where I am) We looked like the doughnut hole on weather radar. Some places had several inches of water standing in the streets.

Northern MN where we play with our tractors has had 5.2" so far in June and looks like there may be more to come. Hard to get many hours on the tractors when it is too wet to take them off the gravel. Last year was about the same, wish we could send most of the rain south to you!

Harley, it's gonna be dry down your for a spell. I was down your way on Thursday, saw a rain cloud and lassoed that sucker and brought it back to Iowa with me. Apparently wasted my time, there wasn't any rain in it when I let it go, just dust.

Harley, it is dry, but Mt. Vernon had an inch and a half last night. That is just 25 miles from me. I mowed my dust yesterday, when I came in I looked like I had been disking on an open station tractor. I have been watching a boat dock on the Osage arm of the Lake of the Ozarks on 65, the ramp is level which means the lake level is up. It must be coming from Ks. All the land here drains that way, and its not from here.

Ya I know Jimmy. They said it was raining in Mt Vernon, Aurora, and even on the Rames River Freeway, but you think we could get any of it here 12 miles away? Nope.

Harley, you need to find yourself a ditchrider to bring back your irrigator and keep it in Tow!!! Thats what we use here in the dry country of north Eastern Oregon, (sagebrush and sand)..

Now you see what southwest Nebraska has been like for years. I am trying to enjoy our recent rains but am too afraid it will stop.

So dry here (Southern Ontario) that the neighbour's uncut green hay field actually burned after a tractor baling hay caught fire! Last year, couldn't buy two dry days in a row !
