I've always sold a lot of equipment on ebay with good results, but lately nobody wants to pay. they either never get back to you and follow through with the purchase or when they come to pick it up and pay, they pick it all apart and leave and say they don't want it. It used to happen to about 1 out of 10, now it about 5 out of 5. Some buyer are only 1 or 2 hours away and they won't come and look at the machine during the auction, but complain after they come to get it. if you buy at a live auction, you have 5 minutes to make up your mind, not 7 days and the auctioneer expects you to pay before you leave. I think ebay has hit its peak, unless they tighten the rules .

Yea, I've been noticing similar. It would help immensely if you could ban (0) history buyers that just created an account moments before bidding on your item. The spoof bidding from deadbeats has gone up tremendously in the past few months.

I'm also loving the ones that win and think that entitles them to now negotiate a price.

I just sold 5 lawn tractors for a John Deere dealer here in town, on ebay, only 1 was not taken and paid for. The one that did not sell was a Cub Cadet, with a 46 inch deck, the guy came to get it, and turned it down, do to actual width of blades was 45 1/2 inches. The deck says 46 inch cut. I am not going to list anything on ebay for a while, got a new gas furnace on there now, and that is it, I am done. Took a month for ebay, and PayPal to get a seller to send me what I had paid for, now I am fighting with ebay on filing a non paying bidders alert on the previously mentioned Cub Cadet, they are telling me that it was improperly listed, due to the actual blade width being 45 1/2 inches.

I guess that guy never buys lumber. 2 X 4s are not 2" by 4". That was just a lame excuss not to pay.

My John Deere says 48" but down inside the operators manual it says 46" cut, that is just the way the manufactures do things. The old combines were advertised as a certain size cut and when you checked it was the distance between the deviders and not the length of the knife

And here I thought that eBay did not protect the buyers. I had a dealing with some fake parts manuals and since I did not buy all of them (that I got shipped) from Ebay. They did not want to do anything. eBay was a letdown there and in your case too it seems.

How many 46 inch deck cut 46 inches? I bet there is not a one. Thats like says a car get 30 miles to the gallon and bring it back since it gets 29.9999.

If 5 out of 5 items are looked at and not taken, maybe you should discribe it a little better.

Too many people have gotten burned on both sides. No way to ever enforce anything over the long distances and you can bid without anyone knowing or finding out who you are or where you live.I think that if everyone had to disclose their true identity and address it would stop alot of this.
