I have an old Ford 550 TLB. It's hard to access the pulleys to replace the one v belt on the machine. You literally have to disassemble the hydraulic pump shaft and take the front end off. Last year I found this composite link vbelt in sections which I can assemble around the 3 pulleys without any takedown of any shafts. The dealer told me it's rated for 80 HP, my TLB is 55 HP. Problem is, the links stretch, snap, I constantly have to relink the belt, and it's frustrating.
Anyone have any experience with these composite v belts? Is it just that the stuff I am using is inferior quality? Do these belts work in Ag tractors long term? I have heard that Fenner Drives make the best ones( PowerTwist-Red) Any opinions?

I've used them with much success. If they are installed backwards as to direction of travel they don't last long, check out how it is installed.

We used one on a Matbro forklift(same problem, hydraulic pump drive) and it held up very well. Fenner is known over here too for quality drive belts .
