Mornin',

Hayin' has started in this area. Weather has been cool and damp all spring, hence the cheat grass has totally taken over the hay fields.

Guys are just crawlin' along out there in the fields fightin' it and trying to get that stuff knocked down.

Couldn't help but notice that the machinery lots have used swathers comin' in like crazy and they are beginning to stack up like cordwood. :>)

Yep, really starting around here too. I started yesterday and worked late and started early again today. I've got 120 acres down right now and will put a little more down this afternoon. I suspect one of the reasons so many people trade them off are like us. We get rid of our hydraswing every 3-4 years while they still have some trade in value. When you're covering 1000+ acres of hay per cutting you just can't have an older less reliable machine. You have to make hay while you can.

Read the subject and thought you had a printing press. So much for that excitement! Ifn you do get one I think $1s and $5s would be the way to go. People get too greedy when they print the $50s and $20s.

LOL!

I was referring to the machinery dealers.

Once again, they always seem to be the dudes who make the money in agricultural endeavours.

Allan, Morning! Hope things are just Ducky, for ya'll this AM up in your end of the world.
Down here in Coastal grass hay country The disc mower and Disc Mo-cos rule. I suspect that is why you are seeing the large amt of regular Mo-cos on dealer lots. In grass the disc just seems to do better, and doesn't clog up. Now get back into a cane type hay and there is nothing better than a regular ol Mo-co.
Anyway that is my $.05 opinion the AM.
Make it a good one!
Later,
John A.

Hi John!

Guess that is why I like plain ol' alfalfa.

The fellas that took the time last April to get out there and scour those hay fields aren't having any problems at all.

Dunno, maybe it is an "old fashioned" thing, but it sure works. :>)
