There are two sides to this issue. When I took over managment of the parade at our local show it was a mess. Among other things no rules. I didn't really want to do it because of the problems enforcing them but I made up a simple set of rules for being able to drive around the show grounds. The one that applies to your comment is as follows "Riders are only allowed on a secure seat or platform and/or standing behind the rear axle of vehicle and any towed implements." The others appied to being able to maintain control and Young drivers having someone along to help if they got in trouble. I did this after (among other things) watching a kid being sent off through the parade on a F20 and he could barely reach the clutch. Dad rode with him part way through the staging area and then got off and sent him on his way. Scared the _ out of me. Had a couple of years of real dificulty with enforcement. I wasn't going to allow any exceptions and caught a lot of greif for that. Had to get after a fellow board member and good friend. I am now off that board but must have done something right because they are still using the rules I wrote. I know your kid may be safe but when one person goes through the next nut thinks it would be ok to have 6 people sitting on fenders and have another 3 all standing on the drawbar and maybe another 6 on the hood. I exagerate but hopefully you see my point. So please Chances R consider the fact that someone is trying to see to it that your daughter and any others see a long and healthy life with all their limbs. Off my soap box now!! jt
