10 to 15 minutes is about all you can expect if the vent hole in your fuel tank cap is plugged. There are some insects that like to seal up any hole that they find. Loosen the cap and see how long it runs. Be careful reaming it, that hole doesn't go straight through. Common problem on Fords of that vintage. Ed

seems the tractor dies after it runs for 10-15 minutes. I have replaced the coil, condenser and points. next i plan on replacing fuel filter and cleaning the carb. any other suggestions?

How long will it run?? If its about 5-10 minutes that could also be a fuel problem, they will run a long time with what gas in in the carb. You may have a clogged fuel system or a slow fuel system. Pull the plug out of the bottom of the carb and make sure you get a good flow of gas. Or as Jim has said either one of those could be your problem

The only other heat related weak point I know of is the key switch. It's easy to test. Start the tractor and run it until it starts to quit again. Use a jumper wire to bypass the key switch (14 ga wire about a foot long with alligator clips on each end...attach each clip to the two lugs on the back of the switch). If your problem goes away, the switch is the bad part.
