Looking for opinions on the Case 2090 and the IH 5088 to be used mainly for round baling and snow blowing. Which is preferable from the shifting standpoint. Somewhat familiar with the Case powershift but not familiar with the 5088. Does it have the ability to shift on the go at all? Does it still use a TA? HP is not an issue on either. Looking at the 1979 case with 4400 hours and the 1982 IH 5088 with 8800 hours for the same money. Opinions on each welcomed. Thank you.

2090 Case tractors are not to be operated for long periods of time in reverse with the pto running. It damages the powershift, therefore would not make the best snowblowing tractor. 5088 tractors do not have a powershift but do have a two speed. I would advise you to drive both. In one persons opinion I think the 5088 in tight places would be more operator friendly.
