Seems this oak met its match in last nights storm. Blew out as fast as it came in. I was glad to be on wrong side of this windfall though. My haybine is parked at the upwind side base of this 30 inch tree. Had the weekend rains not been forcasted (as scattered showers), my hay would be down and all my equipment would have been right under the top of this giant. Because of the rain my animals stayed out in the pasture instead of being in the barnyard that is now full of tree too. I will cut my hay for the first time here in Wisconsin next week. Everybody here has been busy with the first cutting this past week. I held back on Friday because of the forecast hoping to take it down Monday. Looks like my day is already planned. I watched the storm on radar and saw it spanned from Iowa through central Wisconsin. Hope everyone made it through as well as I did.

In Dodgeville, we lost an oak about that size as well. Neighbor lost two cottonwoods. Haven't started cutting hay either--now a pretty big piece of it is down--will wait a bit--maybe later this week, but is forecasted to rain off and on all week. Good luck.

I live down by Blanchardville Wi. I had a big river willow come down across my creek. It doesn't take much to bring them down anyway. Do you burn wood? Looks like you will have quite a pile of it.

Farmer in the Dells, where is your farm located? We live about 5 miles east of the dells on Gulch Ave. We didn"t have any damage last night which was surprising. Our power was out from about 2:00 am to 5:30 am. I thought for sure we would have a couple of trees down.
