I was wondering if it is safe to run a tractor with fluid in one tire and not the other, need to get hay in but will have to take tractor in town to get fluid pumped in.
thanks for your thoughts on this.

I have a friend who upset a Ford 601 tractor last summer while mowing hay using a sicle bar mower. The Field was not very steep. He later discovered that one tire (that came up) was not loaded. He believes that this caused the accident.

You"ll be okay on flat ground at field speed but at road speed watch out. The loaded tire at speed will act as a big flywheel and if you push in the clutch it"ll take a hard turn in the opposite direction of the loaded tire. BTDT :>( JF

Thats a yes, no and sort of. It depends on if your working on hilly land or flat. If on hilly land its not safe to do if on flat its ok. Tractors with only one tire filled are prone to flipping over easyer. Drop me an e-mail and I'll sent you a page on how to fill tires your self, its east to do.

No it won't hurt anything. It will spin on the light side if you get in a heavy pull situation, otherwise no problem. Jack
