There is another you may want to watch for. I received a question, via "ebay" email, for an item that I had on ebay. Problem was the auction eneded three weeks eairlier. Took me a minute to come to a good reason why someone would email me on an auction that was over? Then it hit me! Just to see, I hit the reply now button and was promptly forwarded to a spoof site asking me to login to answer the question. Glad it wasn't a current item, I might have just loged in and never gave it a second thought.

ya, it ruins it for the rest of us. Sometimes I send 2nd chance offers when I have duplicate items but seldom get any takers. everybody is scared of them.

I've been avoiding those 2nd chance offers for years. I got one a couple of weeks ago in the e:mail. Checked my "watch page" on ebay and it was listed at the very top as "2nd chance offer(1)".

I clicked on it and up came a regular auction page, "buy it now" at the bid I had been beat out on the original auction, duration was 5 days.

I did the BIN and received the Item. So ebay must have changed something to track these things.
