Went to use tractor this last winter and clutch was stuck ( would not disengage ) so I used my other tractor. I figered in the spring when it dries up and I can get good traction and with a load on it will free up. Well I hooked it to the 10 foot disk and disked about 8 acers with the clutch held down all the time. Still stuck. Any ideas? I would sure hate to split the tractor to get it unstuck. Thanks

Hi, you may have a broken spring in the clutch damper, one spring coil is under the clutch and keep it engage. Remove the cover, under the clutch housing and you can remove the bolts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel. Back the pressure plate and you can see the trouble. You can usually get at the clutch by removing the starter and working through the hole. Heat a kitchen knife about 2 inches from the end, and bend it 90 degrees. Tie the clutch pedal down, and, working in the gaps in the pressure plate, work the point of the knive down between the clutch disk and flywheel. Because the tool is bent 90 degrees, you can pry on the disk by moving the knife handle laterally. Rotate the flywheel, and repeat. You'll eventually "worry" the disk loose. Might want to tie down the clutch pedal in the future during wet seasons, because it seems some tractors are prone to stuck clutches, and will do so over and over.
