I am looking for some 18x34 rims to fit a John Deere 80 or 820. Does anybody know of a manufacturer for these? My usual supplier says that nobody he deals with makes this type of rim. Are there any other makes of tractor that used a similar rim? I may be able to search the salvage yards if I know what I am looking for.

Where are you at? I have a couple of JD originals I would part with reasonably if you are near NE Colorado.

I would think that someone still makes them, and they aren't tough to find, as Don said, lots of wheatland tractors used that rim.

Your local dealer wasn't trying very hard. It took almost two minutes to find a list of speciality rim manufactures in the Pioneer Rim and Wheel site

B&D,

The guy that I tried to get them from is a Titan/Unverferth dealer. These guys are Amish and act strangely at times. I may need to give him another try. I will also check out some of the other tips I have gotten here.

Thanks guys!

Here is the text from the Unverferth site about thier double bevel step-up rims. There is a bunch of Amish and Mennonite around here too. Certainly an "interesting" society. High-Clearance Wheel Conversions

Tractors that work in specialty crops require high-clearance, specially-made wheels from Unverferth. They'll get you up, over and between those fragile plants with little or no plant contact. Available for most every make and model of tractor in diameters up to 54". Conversion Rims and Wheels Stub-Disc Single-Bevel Double-Bevel Tractors with double bevel rims can easily be "stepped-up" to larger diameter wheels /tires. Simply remove existing lugs on the tractor, and replace with the appropriate lugs. This will allow you to mount a new, larger diameter, single- or double-bevel rim on the tractor. Unverferth multi-fit beveled rims feature a universal driver spacing which allows them to be mounted onvarious cast centers and ensure a secure it with any 8-, 10-, 12- or 16-lug configuration. With these rims a tractor can be converted to larger diameter tires. These rims can also be used to change a tractor to a wider tire or as a replacement. For additional information see your Unverferth Dealer or contact us.

How wide a rim (at the bead) do you want? The usual rims for 18.4 X 34 tires as used on the 80/820/830 should not be at all hard to find. A lot of the wheatland tractors used the same rim. Case 500/600/900/930, Massey 55/555/95/97, Minneapolis etc.. I would also be surprised if you can't still buy them new, but that may be as I have not tried. Where are you located? Maybe those aren't usual where you are.

Don,

As I stated, we have 16" x 34" rims and are looking for 18" x 34" rims. There are several options out there for going to 38" rims, but I haven't found anything for wider 38" rims.
