I recently have changed the cylnoid(probably mispelled). The old one had a by-pass button on the bottom. The new part dosen't have this button, and now my in-dash push button starter switch won't work. I took off the new part, placed the old one back on, the push button stater switch on the old one now won't work...any suggestions why?????

First of all try the Ferguson forum and you'll get a bigger response to your post. Secondly, someone has modified your starter circuit to by pass the OEM starter safety switch that was transmission lever actuated. You'll have to describe the non-standard wiring of your system before we can help you.
