I have a LT1018 CubCadet and I would like to know what I have to fix or replace. As I start the PTO blade and go forward the blade will suddenly cut off and I have to keep cutting it back on. Thanks for any and all help!!!

Where can the safety switch be found on the LT1018 CubCatdet? Does it have to be replaced or can it be taken off? I do not believe that the blade cutting off when you go backwards is the greatest option in the world. So if the safety switch dosen't have to be there that's even better.

It only cuts out in reverse? Wow, OSHA went overboard on this one. The blades are more than likely electric clutch - so that might be difficult to override.

I wouldn't pretend to know exactly where to look, but if it was my mower, and I stress that, I wouldn't do this to anothers mower, I would find the switch that is hooked up to the reverse lever and override it - leave it normal open or normal closed, however it works.

My friend has a LT1050, it's probably very similar, next time I'm there, I'll look for it.

I believe it's under the footrest section, just below the hydrostatic foot pedal. I have the same mower, and plan on unhooking mine, but so far I haven't bothered getting it done. Since it turns so danged short it hasn't been a major hassle - yet. There's also the seat switch, but that should cut out the motor, not just the electric PTO clutch.
