Hey buddy, a few days back you posted about what kind of old iron folks liked, and mentioned that someone that you knew was looking for a parade tractor for under $10K. Well, I mentioned the Farmall H and a JD A that some folks in town were looking to sell. Not specifically to him, but the jest was the idea parade tractor. I just posted them under "tractor photos" a few ago today, and an A that I saw this morning at the Deere guy's place while ordering a tech manual ($150 + $5 shipping - that must be some manual, but her tranny sure did break so I need it if I'm gonna unsplit it correctly after I split it).

Personally, I think the N/F makes a much better parade tractor, cause it's easier to navigate through that darn band when they start marching too slow. Guess it's why I never get invited to parades or town much. Come to think of it, guess it's why I don't get invited to dinner either, in my own home. LOL.

Anyway, my kind of show tractors. $2,100 for the H, $2,500 for the A. Don't know what the Deere guy's askin for his A. Know what he's askin for the 4520 on the other side of it, that I asked about.

Thanks Mark...
I'll bring it to his attention. To me, nothing is neater than an old tractor just like the one we remember Grandpa on! (I my case that would have to be a lil' Ford with a wooden walking cane hanging in the 3 point lift arm.)

Yeah, somethin to be said about a N/F Workmaster or even an old N/F Allis too. Sure do look nice. Kinda hard to work with if are a big fat guy like me, but sure do look nice, especially pullin a haywagon with a bunch of laughin, smilin, wavin kids down the street. Them old ones, just keep fixin them, and they just keep chuggin away. Never forget to give 'er a pat on the hood and a thanks after backin 'er into her corner of the barn. They don't seem to like to set though, seem to be tempermental, almost as though a little angry or upset.
