I was a at an auction years ago, I had bought several items. The auctioneer was so bid happy, that I would turn my back to him when I dropped out of bidding. One one item, I dropped out early, turned my back, he still had me as the high bidder.. The whole crowd told him he was wrong. It was not a bad price on the item, so I told him if he was that desperate for bids, I would take it.... the crowd laughed then..... I guess he was the worst auctioneer I ever saw. Now he is head of the County Council.....

So that is what that guy in the back row looks like that is always bidding away on every piece of equipment that crosses the block but when he makes a mistake and wins a bid says..... .. Oh.…..Who me..... I was not bidding.

Now that I know what he looks like I can be better prepared at auctions.

Yep, that's the same guy that's at every auction I've ever been to. How he knows to quit JUST before I'm done bidding I don't know. Got caught last fall though. They ran a beat up Farmall H up to about $600.00 and everybody bailed. After the auction, the auctioneer walked around asking folks if they would like to buy the H from him, and he finally took $410.00 for it. Dirty dog was running it up and pulling bids out of the air. We really chuckled right in front of him when he took it in the shorts for a couple of hundred. Later, Harley
