My lift rams are stuck in the extended position. Cant even budge them if i stand on them. How can I tell if its a pump problem or a ram problem? I have all the manuals and the pump seems pretty complicated. There must be great pressure in the hose lines-can I bleed them? Am i best off just purchasing a new pump?? Thanks for your help!

Sure they're both locked? The way they're originally plumbed is that one is in front of the hold position valve, the other in back. That means that only one cyl does the "hold" work. I'll bet that your hold position valve is out of whack and the internal cam isn't pushing the ball out of its seat. The IT manual has instructions for adjusting and rebuilding the valve. Probably don't need a new pump, but you should most likely replace the hold position spring as they tend to get weak.

Since you have the operator manual, check the page that show the same info as the decal on the battery box- how to set the four screws for what you want the system to do. I would not expect a problem with the rams- they are simply one-way cylinders with power up, gravity down, as long as the control system is working to allow back flow.

Orange-
Feel free to email me directly if you're still having problems. I haven't torn into a WD 45 pump but have rebult the hold position valve and come up with a nifty and easy fix for leaking ones (you have the opposite problem!).
