Hi folks,

I'm looking at a CaseIH C60 that's up in Canada, but not too far from me here in NH. The dealer that has it was good enough to send some really great photos, including one of the rear end. All of the literature and pictures of C60's I've seen have a black plastic fuel tank. This rig up in Canada has a metal tank, almost identical to the one on my IH584.

Are differences like that common? Is it a country thing? Are there any other configuration issues which might make it hard to get parts down here difficult?

Not sure the price will be all that great after I account for shipping and import issues, so it may not matter, but it I was surprised to see the pic, so I figured I'd ask you all about it.

Thanks as always,
Jim in NH

The earlier built C series had the metal fuel tanks. Later ones used plastic.

Jim: I'm not familiar with C60, however some of the British designed tractors are a bit different in Canada and the US. All Canadian models were completely built at Doncaster England, whereas some US models were built in US using British power train and US sheet metal, etectronics, front axles.

The most common of these is the 444, and front axle on US model is swept back design like old utilities. Canadian model has a straight axle like your 584. Fenders, hood and grill are noticably different. US model has Delco system, Canadian model has a British starter, etc.

I don't think parts are impossible as long as everyone knows what they have. They are likely not as fast, and never in stock room.

I use an IH 584 and a newer CASE/IH 585

The 584 has all Lucas electrics while the 585 has some Delco on it. I think it may have been swapped during repair.

The 585 is newer and has a fiberglass nose cone. The rest is pretty much the same. Some differences in the fuel filter setup.

They both have steel tanks. I see the new McCormicks based off the IH's use the plastic tank.
