I need somebody to settle an argument for me. I have a picture of a Ford 801 Power Master with a four wheel drive front end. A friend of mine said Ford never buit that tractor like that. If it's home built the guy did an excellent job. Who is right? Me or my buddy.
Also, I visited a Ford tractor dealer and saw an old tractor, (I dont know the tear and model), that had no gear shift lever. On the left side of the steering column it had your throttle lever and on the right side it had a lever that looked just like the throttle lever only it said forward and reverse with the word "Road Speed" on it. What kind of transmission is that?

Scott..... ..yer BOTH right. Ford didn't have a factory 4WD tractor until English Ford MAJOR with 2-drive shafts foward. ...but... there was a DEALER installed FWD conversion called Elenco made from WW2 Dodge powerwagon FWD axles. Which is what yer 801 had. There was also a European WW2 Jeep axle FWD conversion kit for the smaller 2N/Fergies but I don't believe were ever sold stateside..... .....Dell
