I cleaned and tryed to seal my F-12 tank yesterday. I had used the sealer before to do 2 other tanks with good results. Yesterday I thought the sealer was a little thick but stirred it up good and poured the sealer in the tank. Mistake!!, the sealer was to thick to flow around inside the tank. I now have a thick coating on the bottom of the tank. Question?? What can I use the dissolve the sealer and get it out. The can said it could be thinned with ethyl acetate. What will remove the sealer . Also what sealer would you recommend. Thanks Robert.

I used a POR-15 kit on a snowmobile a couple years ago, it worked great and came with good prep chemicals. I thought I'd gotten the tank real clean but more gunk came out with their chemicals.

Over on the antique motorcycle site Flathead Power everyones complaining all the sealers are coming loose due to something new in the gasoline.I dont really know but I have it in a couple tanks,so I hope not.If its too thick you must let it dry and use one of those three prong retreival tools to pull it out after scraping an edge loose with the screwdriver. The Kreem may dry ok when too thick. It always seems thick and you do have to keep turning the tank for awhile sometimes although I never tryed to thin it first.I use the alcohol resistant [white] from JC whitney.but got the adress from YT here for the Red Coat.On that bike sight guys are complaining about everything even the Red Coat coming off.Alot of it probably depends how rusted the tank was and how good the prep was done or even worked.I used in on a new tank I sure hope it stays on good. Its a needed product.Maybe you can see if it drys thick and keep an eye on it then if it starts to lift off go to the trouble of pulling it out.Ive pulled the siver color out of a Truimph bike tank and it was a pain in the neck.Good luck.
