I removed my starter, and it had a bad solenoid, as someone mentioned. Now I think my key switch may be bad, as no lights come on when the key is turned 0n. Where is the switch located.(the one that turns on the ign.) Thanks stan

does your headlights burn..did you hook all the wires back on starter..don't know what year they changed but used to get hot for everything inside the car or truck from starter lug...have nice day may god bless

its down on the steering column,under the dash.theres a rod that runs from the key to the switch.

You may have damaged the fusable link and it's main power lead. It's one of the big wires on the starter that feeds allmost all of the power to the vehicle. Including the guages and ignition switch.
