I was chasing my cat into this small 10' wide strip of weeds and trees when I ran into this old orange lawn tractor. The next day I pulled the tractor out and put it into my garage. I saw on the tractor that it was made by Tom Moore Tractor, Inc. built in Mantua, Ohio. It has two blade mower deck and it has a five horsepower briggs and stratton pull start engine. I really want to restore this tractor but I can not find any infromation out about this tractor or the company. If any body knows anything about this tractor or the company could you please email me this information or pictures. Thanks

Brandon,

I grew up on a farm near Manuta, Ohio, and graduated from high school at Crestwood High School in Mantua.

I left home immediately after graduation in 1962 and haven't been back except for occasional visits. Moore Manufacturing was a locally owned and operated company. It was bought out by a major company (I don't remember which one) in the late 60's or early 70's and was closed.

I'm sorry that I don't have any information on the mower. You might try to find a web site for the Chamber of Commerce in Mantua and see if they have any info on the history of the company. With that, you might be able to find a contact who knows more about their product line.

Good luck,

Tom in TN

The Tom Moore Tractor brand name was Farm-Ette, atleast in 1963. Several flyers were sold on ebay.com awhile back. I have a .jpeg of one of the flyers in color. I should upload it on my website.

Or email me and I will email it to you.

Thanks for that picture. Is that the biggest picture you have? At least now I know a little more than what I did.
