OK, sorry for the long post but heres what we have done and the problem still having. We did a complete tune up (new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc), overhauled the carb, new fuel filter and installed new exhaust manifold. Tractor starts and purs like a kitten....PROBLEM is, it runs good for about 5-10 min or so and then just dies (no sputtering or anything). Seems like it dies once it is hitting an operating temp or something....HELP ALL PLEASE. Any idea"s..... ..Sean O.

First thing I'd do is hot wire it. That takes out all the old wireing, that way you will have an idea which way to go from there. If it runs and doesn't die then its from the coil back. If it still dies its from the coil forward.

Run a wire from the coil battery side to the battery. That takes out the wireing from the battery to the coil. Makes it easy to find out which side of the ignition your problem is in

ignition switch. Yep ignition awitch that ford used was not real robust and when it gets 30 or 40 years on it a bit gunked up tha contacts have enough resistance to shut the machine down. Jumper around the swutch to test. Be careful because you will be also bypassing the neutral sfety when doing this and the tractor will start in gear and run over your ash!

Before you do or change anything else, determine whether it is fuel or ignition related. Check for good blue spark, and for continuous flow of fuel into (by draining) the carb immediately after it stops. Check colour of plugs, perhaps, to see if it is running too weak (although not very useful indicator on an engine with only short runs like you are experiencing).
What I am saying is - work systematically to find the problem, then fix it when you know what needs fixing.

Could be condenser or coil. Or plugged vent on fuel cap, after running a while, vacuum keeps fuel from flowing ..... .
