We started last friday. Got in about 235 acres (more or less) before the rain hit. Looks like we'll start up again Saturday.

Anyone else planting yet?

Lucky guy!

Here in Canada where I live the ground is still too wet and cold- around 5 deg.C- can"t plant corn yet...but we feel that it"s warm here :)

What"s the temp where you"re farming?

God bless,

Pawel

Allan, my local dealer has a couple of those planters sitting on his lot. Just for fun, I asked the price. Didn't get a solid answer, just a ball-park figure, and I won't reveal it here, but not too many years ago the same money would have bought the farm.

One of the local farmers just bought a new Deere 48 row planter. I heard it was over $150,000.

If I had that one, I'd be SHOPPING for a new one, that's fer sher...

Actually, the plan is to buy a new one before next year. Doing 8X30" corn, and 7" drilled beans now. Gonna change BOTH... Looking at buying a 12 row X 20" planter, and doing BOTH corn and soybeans with one planter. Several good reasons. Gotta buy a new corn head for the combine too, so it ain't gonna be cheap.
