We finally got the 706 running but it runs really bad. The timing is off a little but that doesn"t seem to be the problem. It will run ok for awhile but then it bogs down and dies. I think its sucking air and not getting enough gas but I"m no expert. The only way we can keep it running is with the choke on. Any help would be apprecited! Thanks

try running it with the gas cap off. I'll bet the vent in your gascap is plugged.

If it runs with the choke on, it is finding air somewhere. Get out the spray can of carb cleaner(please don"t use the ether)and start spraying along the carb and intake system until you see-hear- an RPM change. That will be the source of your leak.

Sounds like the carberator is out of line. Might want to check it, but that is what I think, could be wrong

We had the carb rebuilt and it seems to be working fine.

Don't assume that because you had the carb. rebuilt that that is not where the trouble is.
Check: float level proper gasket between carb top and bottom vacuum leak between carb and manifold needle valve adjustment- dirt in fine holes in carb. fuel filter - strainer - line manifold gaskets
