farmall h running ok then suddenly dies

Just wondering why my farmall h was running good then it dies.It a 6 volt with a gen.There is good gas you can smell it while trying to start it.There is no spark at the plugs is it a coil.Any help or ideas wood be great. thanks bruce

Look for a disconnected wire near the ignition switch, coil, or distributor. It's not unusual for them to shake loose or break. Tighten every connection up as you follow the wires from the battery to the distributor.

If that isn't it, and it still doesn't start after cooling down, I'd replace the points and condensor and check the timing. If that doesn't help you'll need to get a voltmeter and find where the circuit is open or shorted. It's really not that difficult on an H, there just aren't very many wires on it.

Carb could be gummed up if it stops running after the engine warms up. The gum expands from heat and stops fuel flow

Could be a few things condenser and or coil or even the rotor. If its the coil most of the time after about an hour it wil fire back up. A condenser maybe 15 minutes or so it fires back up. the rotor it will not fire back up no matter how long it sits. Just a couple ideas for you
